What happens to my waste when you collect it?

Everything we collect goes to a transfer station (apart from hazardous waste). Our commitment to the environment is real, which is why we only use transfer stations that recycle over 95%. We do not sell on or re-use any goods we collect.

How big are your vehicles?

We use 3.5 tonne Ford Transit Tippers, which are much more efficient at accessing smaller spaces in comparison to bulky skip lorries. We can collect a maximum of 12 yards of general waste or 2 tonnes of soil or hardcore.

What’s your availability?

We always aim for next-day service. We don’t guarantee this but in the worst-case scenario, we will collect within 48 hours of booking. If your collection must be collected the next day, please contact us & we will do our best to accommodate.

What areas do you cover?

We cover all BA & BS postcodes (Bath & Bristol).

How can I get a quotation?

The most efficient way to get a quotation is to send us some photos. This can be done through our online quote form, email or Facebook.

How much do you charge?

We charge based on volume & types of material. It’s very difficult to explain in volume, hence why sending us pictures of what you need collecting is really useful for us to give you an accurate quotation.

What is your minimum charge?

Our minimum charge for collecting bin bags only is £45 +VAT. For anything else, it’s £60 +VAT. This is not a call-out fee but a minimum charge, there is no obligation to proceed on the day of collection.

When & how do I need to pay?

We don’t take payment until all the waste is cleared & you are 100% happy with our work. We will call you once the collection is complete & take payment by card over the phone. If you prefer, you can also pay by BAC’s, just let us know & we will send you the details.

Do I need to be in for the collection to go ahead?

This depends on where the rubbish needs to be collected from. If there is easy access, e.g. from the front drive & through a gate into the back garden, then we can collect this in your absence with no issue at all. If access is more complex, contact us to discuss your requirements further. We can also collect & drop off keys if we need access for a house clearance. We’ll discuss this with you prior to the visit.

What type of waste do you not collect?

We collect the vast majority of all general, garden, household (including furniture) & commercial waste. The only things we do not collect are tyres, paint tins, & anything that could harm us e.g needles.

What can't be recycled?

Items that can’t be recycled include:

  • Food waste

What is asbestos?

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibre, widely used in buildings for insulation, flooring, roofing, ceilings & walls throughout the UK until the late 1990s when its dangers were exposed.

Asbestos regulations for your commercial property

Why is asbestos dangerous?

When materials containing asbestos are disturbed or damaged, they release fibres into the air that can cause serious diseases like lung cancer. Long-term exposure to asbestos causes a serious lung condition called Asbestosis. Health problems & diseases caused by asbestos take a long time to develop, & once they’re diagnosed it’s often too late to effectively treat. So, it’s essential to protect yourself now by safely removing harmful asbestos in your home or premises with the help of fully licensed asbestos removal experts (like us!).

What does asbestos look like?

Asbestos comes in many different forms & is often mixed with other materials, making it difficult to identify to the untrained eye. There are 3 main types of asbestos:

  • Amosite (brown)
  • Chrysotile (white)
  • Crocidolite (blue)

Pure asbestos can only be seen in loose-fill material such as ceilings & floors, which looks similar to candyfloss & is usually a blue-grey or whiteish colour. Loose-fill is the most dangerous form of asbestos, so those handling or removing it must be licensed & trained to do so. So, if you think you’ve found asbestos, do not disturb it & seek advice from a licensed asbestos removal firm or an environmental health officer immediately.

How is asbestos waste disposed of safely?

Asbestos can be incredibly damaging to health & the environment, so waste containing more an 0.1% asbestos is classed as hazardous. It must not mix with other types of waste, so it must be double-bagged & kept in a covered, locked container. Other contaminated building materials, tools used (that can’t be decontaminated), personal protective equipment & damp rags used for cleaning must be treated as hazardous waste too. Before it’s taken to a permitted asbestos landfill site, it must be clearly labelled. As licensed asbestos disposal contractors, we use red, thick plastic sacks with asbestos warnings printed on the outside. We also comply with the Carriage of Dangerous Good Regulations when transporting asbestos waste, for absolute peace of mind.
